Crock Pot Chicken Pot Pie and Dumplings Recipe

by 11 October 07, 2015

Add this recipe of crock pot chicken pot pie and dumplings to your list of comfort food MUSTS. There are few comfort foods that register higher than chicken pot pie and chicken and dumplings for me, so I've decided to COMBINE these two amazing  separate dishes into one amazing final product. I've had a particularly rough two weeks health-wise that lead to the revelation that I needed a root canal. Eeek! So all I've wanted is comfort food. Food that snuggles up to me and says, "Honey,  darling, it'll all be alright." This recipe definitely does that.DSC_21861 Now that it's finally starting to cool off, I expect we're all turning to our old faithful soup and chili recipes. This recipe needs to go in that rotation stat. It's enough to feed my husband and I for three days, and we're not shy on our portions. It's cheap, it's time efficient, and it does exactly what you want from fall food: to feel full and cozy.DSC_21941

CROCK POT CHICKEN POT PIE AND DUMPLINGS

Ingredients  Package of chicken breast** (skinless breasts are easiest, but all I had were thighs, and they were much more of a hassle than just buying breasts!) 2 cups of chicken broth 2 packages of biscuits Salt and pepper - lots 2 10oz cans of cream of chicken soup Peas Carrots Green Beans (Whatever freezer bag combo of these veggies you can find!) 1 cup of chopped sweet onion 2 cloves of garlic 2 tablespoons of lemon Directions I can talk about the beauty of crock pot meals at length to anyone willing to listen or read about it. The save my life anytime I'm overwhelmed at work because they take care of one of my biggest responsibilities by feeding my family. A crock pot allows you to dump ingredients into one place, cook said ingredients, and then all of the sudden you have a meal. That's exactly what happens for this recipe. Before you dump all of the ingredients, you will need to cut some of them. Cut up your garlic and onions. Now you're ready.chicken and dumplings, chicken pot pie, chicken pot pie and dumplings, crock pot, crock pot chicken, crock pot comfort foods, crock pot chicken and dumplings You will now put the chicken, garlic,  peas, onions, cream of chicken, and carrots all together in your crock pot. Cook for 6-6/1.5 hours stirring occasionally if you can. I tend to make my crock pot meals while I'm home so that I can check on them periodically, but it's perfectly fine if you can't. Since I'm checking on it periodically, and because I love spices more than I should, I add a bit of pepper and salt each time I stir.
