This month Hello Luvvy has really been focusing on owning who you are as a woman and celebrating that daily. There's so much I could say about this topic, and it's something the other ladies have said so well, but I want to express just maybe half a cent worth of what that means to me. I struggled for a long time finding a hobby outside of my career and hanging with my loved ones. My love of cooking and writing has really transformed my identity, so I just wanted to thank you guys for letting me share that with you! Now, onwards with this week's recipe. In preparation for St. Patrick's day, I have prepared for you two lucky drink recipes to celebrate the day with. St. Patrick's day may be a small holiday, but it's one of my favorites. Ok, let me honest, I love ALL holidays essentially, but the jovial spirit of St. Patrick's day exudes such a fun communal spirit, how can you not love it? Please enjoy the special green drinks I've created for you. (Edible) Cucumber Jameson Shots Ingredients 2 Cucumbers Jameson Basil Leaves So Buzzfeed had an edible shot glass list earlier this week, and I knew I had to try to make one. What I've made for you today are square cucumber shot glasses that you fill with Jameson and basil. Jameson because it's my second favorite Irish whisky (but probably the most famous), and cucumber/basil because it is a light flavor that is perfect for celebrating spring, plus it's green! Although I made these with St. Patrick's day in mind, they are also perfect spring drinks. To make the cucumber shot glass, first you need to cut your cucumber into 5-6  sections (depending on the size of the cucumber). Peel the sections after you cut them. Make sure when you peel, you are shaping the sections into squares. That's why you are peeling AFTER you've already cut the sections. edible shots, cucumber shots, jameson, cucumber basil alcohol, st patrick's day drink Once you've peeled, you can use a melon baller OR just a knife to cut out a circular shape in the middle of your cucumber section. After your sections are prepared, lay out some salt on your cutting board and take the top part of the cucumber and rub into the salt for a salted rim. Fill with Jameson, and a basil leave. Serve, and be the toast of all of your friends! These were so fun to make, and so fun to drink. edible shots, cucumber shots, jameson, cucumber basil alcohol, st patrick's day drink edible shots, cucumber shots, jameson, cucumber basil alcohol, st patrick's day drink edible shots, cucumber shots, jameson, cucumber basil alcohol, st patrick's day drink edible shots, cucumber shots, jameson, cucumber basil alcohol, st patrick's day drink edible shots, cucumber shots, jameson, cucumber basil alcohol, st patrick's day drink (Edible shot trying outtake) Irish Sangria Ingredients 4 oz Jameson 3 cups of Riesling 2 cups of Diet Ginger ale (or Reg. Ginger ale, or La Croix lemon lime) 1/4 cup of sugar 2 tablespoon of salt Fresh cut green apples, lemons, limes, cucumber, and basil (luckily you already have these!) Directions I may, or may not, be enjoying a glass of this fresh sangria as I type. I really loved the idea of combining a whisky into a sangria mix because it's a fresh look at sangrias. We've all made a wine sangria at some point, but what are some ways we can begin transforming these drinks for spring? This seemed like an answer to that dilemma. For this, you will combine all ingredients listed above, chill and serve. Now you have a green drink to serve that is fresh, and full of delicious fruits. irish sangria, jameson, st. patrick's day drinks, fruit drinks, irish lemonade irish sangria, jameson, st. patrick's day drinks, fruit drinks, irish lemonade irish sangria, jameson, st. patrick's day drinks, fruit drinks, irish lemonade Nothing like sangria in the sunshine.
