by 2 August 11, 2014While it may feel a little premature to be thinking about fall makeup trends in mid-August, I feel like now is the perfect transitional time to clean-out and restock the old makeup drawer. Considering that this fall's trends are wild, funky, heavily 90s-inspired, and just plain weird, it would do you well to start studying up on which looks are suited for your personal tastes. [caption id="attachment_8405" align="aligncenter" width="700"] [images from harper's bazaar][/caption]Metallic makeup has been all over the runway shows as designers preview their fall lines. The glittering look showed up in almost every shiny shade, from bright silvers to dark, moody berries and rusts-- how like, so totally 90s is that? Luvv it. [caption id="attachment_8406" align="aligncenter" width="700"] [images from harper's bazaar][/caption]Aside from the bold colors of the metal makeup, most faces on the runway were pretty bare; "no-makeup makeup" has gotten more and more popular and that low-maintenance look showed up atop outfits from some really high-price names: Jason Wu, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, and Diane von Furstenburg. [caption id="attachment_8407" align="aligncenter" width="700"] [images from harper's bazaar][/caption] [caption id="attachment_8408" align="aligncenter" width="700"] [images from vogue.com][/caption]As you can see, braids are still en vogue-- so those braiding skills that you perfected this summer will still be useful as we transition into fall! YES. But what I love about the trendy fall hairstyle predictions is the return of the messy bang -- again, SO 90s. [caption id="attachment_8409" align="aligncenter" width="700"] [images from vogue.com][/caption]The final look I am dying to start rocking (we don't actually have to wait until September to welcome fall trends, you know) is the deep side part. And I'm talking deep. Most stylists had the models' hair parted three to four inches over from the center of their crown. This look is such a simple way to make any ponytail look sleek and chic. Stay tuned as we try our own versions of these various trends! Now go put on some coppery lipstick!
