NARS makes this great makeup stick called The Multiple. It works as your blush, your eye shadow and your lipstick all in one. It’s actually a great idea to take one of these beauties with you when you travel to drastically cut down the contents of your makeup bag.
But that’s not the point I want to make.
The point is this – when you are traveling to places that offer many a historical building, monument, impressive view, famous bridge etcetera it’s worth finding the cities equivalent to a NARS Multiple.
In London you could see upwards of 384 important historical locations (this is just an estimate and it’s probably a low one). And regardless of how long your stay is you could easily fill your entire stay in London visiting tourist attractions. But if that’s not your bit, you could visit a Multiple and experience a spectrum of London tourism in one stop.
This very night Mat and I took four friends to visit The London Eye. When we got off at the Westminster tube stop we saw Big Ben and Westminster Abby. On our short walk to the Eye we past three chestnut roasters and no fewer than six “guess which cup the ball is under” scam artists.
The London Eye is a huge ferris wheel with rooms that hold twenty-ish people in place of the rocking two-seater at your local fair.[caption id="attachment_3492" align="aligncenter" width="720"] View from the tip top[/caption]
The Eye is a twenty-minute ride and as you make your round you get to see Buckingham Palace, Green Park, Big Ben, The Shard and lots of the Thames River.[caption id="attachment_3491" align="aligncenter" width="675"] Big Ben and Westminster Abby from our Eye pod[/caption]
That’s a lot of what London has to offer in an hour and a half.[caption id="attachment_3493" align="aligncenter" width="675"] Our family of three on the London Eye - after multiple attempts this is Faye's best attempt at looking at the camera[/caption]
Multiples don't have to be just the standard sites to see. They can be the standard experiences to have.
In Paris we experienced quintessential french picnic in the Champ de Mars. Macaroons, wine, baguettes and the Eiffel tower is a Parisian Multiple.
Multiples let you get to all the essentials and still leave you with the time to explore some of the path slightly less traveled.
Here's to efficient tourism.
