Valentine's Day with a [French] Twist

by 2 February 09, 2015

Happy (early) Valentine's Day, girls! And whether you're planning to spend this luvvy-duvvy weekend with a significant other or with your best gal pals, rest assured that Hello Luvvy is going to be here to inspire you every step of the way. For today's beauty tutorial, I'll be sharing a french twist how-to that I've been working to perfect for quite some time now. It's a look that's so timeless and romantic, your date won't even know that it only takes around five minutes to create. french twist feature To begin, section off and then tease the hair on top of your head. I teased several sections because I have super fine hair. french twist (27) Secure the teased section at your crown with two over-lapping bobby pins. Oh yeah, I should have probably mentioned early that you're going to need ALL THE BOBBY PINS. I seriously used around twenty. french twist (25) Now brush all your hair toward the left side, then make a row of bobbies straight up the back of your head. french twist collage1 Here's the (sort of) tricky part: to create the "twist," roll your remaining hair around your hand -- kind of like we did in the victory rolls tutorial -- keeping the roll vertical, then smooth the roll down against the back of your head. french twist collage2 While using your left hand to hold the roll in place, begin secure the roll along its right edge with more bobby pins. Tuck in loose ends and do your best to hide the bobbies. french twist (10)french twist (11) Ladies, you've just created a french twist all on your own. If you're feeling really saucy, add a pretty bejeweled barrette or a flower hair pin. french twist (4)french twist (9) And of course, no Valentine's Day would be complete without some (red) lipstick. Happy Valentine's and Galentine's to all my best girls and awesome readers. Much luvv to you all! katie-sig
